Terminal 3 Quick Facts

Terminal code is T3. It has 48 gates spread across 3 levels. The terminal opened in 1991. It connects to Terminal 1 via the LINK Train and also connects directly to the Sheraton Hotel.

Complete Gate Map (A1 to C41)

Gates A1 to A6 — These gates are for USA / Transborder flights only. Use Security A to access these gates. This is a separate security zone.

Gates B1 to B41 — These gates handle both Domestic and International flights. Use Security B/C to access these gates.

Gates C30 to C41 — These gates also handle Domestic and International flights. Use Security B/C to access these gates.

Important Note

Gates A1 to A6 are ONLY for USA flights. They have their own separate security checkpoint. Do not go to Security B/C if you are flying to the USA. You will be sent back.

Quick Guide by Destination

If you are flying to the USA → Go to gates A1 to A6 → Use Security A.

If you are flying within Canada (Domestic) → Go to gates B1 to B41 or C30 to C41 → Use Security B/C.

If you are flying International (not USA) → Go to gates B1 to B41 or C30 to C41 → Use Security B/C.

Level-by-Level Breakdown and Security Checkpoints

Level 1 Arrivals

This is where you land. Level 1 has baggage claim and customs (CBSA) for international passengers. You will also find ground transportation, currency exchange, and ATMs here.

Level 2 Departures

This is where you take off. Level 2 has check-in counters and security checkpoints. After security, you will find duty free shops, restaurants, and access to all gates.

Level 3

Level 3 has the Sheraton Gateway Hotel connected via a walkway. You will also find the LINK Train platform here, which takes you to Terminal 1, Viscount Station, and the Rental Car Centre.

Security Checkpoints  Where to Go

Security A is located at the west end of Level 2. Use this security only for gates A1 to A6. These are USA flights only.

Security B/C is located in the central area of Level 2. Use this security for gates B1 to B41 and C30 to C41. These are Domestic and International flights.

Important Warning

Gates A1 to A6 have separate security. Do not go to Security B/C if you are flying to the USA. You will be sent back and will waste time. Always check your gate number before lining up for security.

Arrivals and Departures Information

Arrivals Level 1

When you land at Terminal 3, you will come to Level 1. Here you will find baggage claim to collect your luggage. If you are arriving from an international destination, you will need to go through customs (CBSA). Customs wait time is usually 30 to 60 minutes.

For ground transportation, you have several options: taxis, limos, rideshare services like Uber and Lyft, UP Express train, and city buses. All these are available from Level 1.

Currency exchange is also available on Level 1 if you need local money.

Departures Level 2

When you are flying out, you will start at Level 2. This is where check-in counters are located. After checking in, you will go through security. Security wait times at Terminal 3 are typically 0 to 5 minutes.

YYZ Express is a free service that lets you book your security appointment online before you arrive at the airport. This can save you time during busy hours.

Quick Reference Washrooms & Facilities

Washrooms are available on Level 1 near baggage claim and on Level 2 near gates A, B, and C.

Nursing pods are located near gate B and near gate C.

Pet relief area is on Level 1 outside the arrivals area.

Currency exchange is available on both Level 1 and Level 2.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Going to B/C security for USA flights — A gates have separate security. You will be sent back and waste time.

Walking between Terminal 3 and Terminal 1 — Takes 20-25 minutes with luggage. Use LINK train instead. It takes only 4 minutes.

Calling driver before customs — Customs takes 30-60 minutes. Call only AFTER you have your bags.

Terminal 3 has 48 gates divided into three ranges: A1 to A6, B1 to B41, and C30 to C41.
